Let's Be Crystal Clear: Public Water Needs To Be Protected

This is an opinion piece from Jon Bowermaster, the founder of Oceans 8 Films and One Ocean Media Foundation. Sizable and necessary attention has been paid in recent years to the important fight over the impact of dirty fossil fuels on our environment. But it is sometimes overlooked that while oil, gas, and coal are extremely important to life as we know it, none are humanity's most necessary commodity. That would be clean water. Far more important than what we burn to create energy, access to clean water is an absolute necessity if we are to survive as a planet. Thus protecting it should be our number-one priority.
