The Spirit of Dev Diwali at Cosmic Heart Gallery
Dev Diwali, celebrated with unparalleled reverence in Varanasi, finds a unique interpretation in Mumbai’s Cosmic Heart Gallery. An exclusive gathering of just 24 guests experienced the profound recitation of the Vishnu Sahasranama amidst masterpieces created by Prof. Dr. Udayraj Gadnis.
Calligraphy artist Shree Bhusan Bhansali showcased 500 meticulously handwritten pages of the sacred hymn, presented on handmade paper, capturing the audience’s attention with intricate artistry. Guests, seated on an Indian bethak (traditional seating), immersed themselves in the sacred vibrations as the thousand names of Lord Vishnu unfolded, highlighting divine qualities like compassion and preservation.
Complementing the spiritual experience, Tulsi patta offerings, along with thandai and mithai, evoked the essence of blessings and joy. This simple yet profound event encapsulated the sacredness of Dev Diwali, creating a meditative space in the heart of bustling Mumbai.
Cosmic Sounds: Merging Spirituality with Art
In celebration of Diwali, the Cosmic Heart Gallery unveiled its third exhibition, 'Cosmic Sounds,' featuring the works of Prof. Dr. Udayraj Gadnis. This exhibition pays tribute to the Beej Mantras—primordial sounds believed to resonate with cosmic energy.
Each Beej Mantra, from 'Om' to 'Hreem,' channels unique vibrations that align with the universe's core energies. Dr. Gadnis, often referred to as "The Sage of Indian Contemporary Art," translates these ancient vibrations into visual art using 24-carat gold and crushed ruby paste, symbolizing prosperity, spiritual abundance, and divine connection.
The exhibition blends the metaphysical and tangible, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the vibrational essence of these sacred sounds. The timing, aligned with Diwali’s themes of renewal and prosperity, amplifies the art’s significance, resonating with the festival’s spirit of inviting abundance into homes.
