Utpal Datta, distinguished critic, author, and filmmaker, is honoured with an Assam Government Literary Pension and two National Awards for film criticism. His short films screened at major festivals, including IFFI’s Indian Panorama. His books Film Appreciation and Decoding Films are widely recognised, the latter to be translated into French.
