In their latest project, the Panjim City Round Table 128 is building eight classrooms in ShantaVidyalaya in Siolim. To raise the funds, the organization is hosting a charity film screening of ‘Gabbar is back’ at 6pm at Inox, Panaji, on May.
ShantaVidyalaya currently has a strength of 240 underprivileged children. The new classrooms, estimated to be built at a cost of 80 lakh are expected to reach out to another 300 students. Through the latest charity event, the organization expects to raise 6 lakh which will all go towards building the classrooms. “Our ‘Freedom through education’ initiative where we build full-fledged classrooms will benefit the children of migrants and those from weaker sections of society,” tabler (member) Prakash Kapadia says.
