When World Bank released their ‘Ease of Doing Business report in 2014, India was ranked 142 out of 189 countries, and one of the biggest issues which a new entrepreneur was facing in India was the time taken to register a new company. Last year, India improved its ranking by 12 spots, but registration process still took time, and it was a bad signal which we gave to the outer world. Last year, Forbes had ranked India a lowly 95 in their list of business-friendly nations. During the much hyped ‘Startup India Standup India program, PM Modi had assured that his Govt. will ensure that the time taken to register a new company is lessened, and it seems that Ministry of Corporate Affairs is right on track on this one.
