‘Writers must not have any kind of judgementalism’

Gautam Benegal is an incredibly talented writer, cartoonist and artist, who grew up in Kolkata. In the past, he’s contributed articles and illustrations for several publications, including the Bengali magazine, Sandesh (which was edited by Satyajit Ray, among others at the time). Now based in Mumbai, he continues being a freelance painter, journalist and cartoonist. His animation film The Prince and the Crown of Stone won the National Award in the past. He is also a short story writer. His earlier work, 1/7 Bondel Road, earned him critical recognition. Now his latest fiction, The Green of Bengal & Other Stories, is earning him rave reviews.
