Being a Marvel fanatic I had been waiting for Thor: Ragnarok's release for quite a while. Reviews have been pouring in for Thor: Ragnarok for the last couple days and every critic after coming out of the theater or even in between the film has only praised it, some even calling it Marvel's best yet! Subsequent to reading all that material my excitement to watch this film only escalated rapidly. This is the third film in the series.

Before I get into the detailed review, I'll cut to the chase and say that Thor: Ragnarok is indeed one of the best films to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also the funniest! (Yeah, suck it DC!) 

God Of Thunder or Lord Of Thunder (as the Grandmaster may call him), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is imprisoned on the other side of the universe, on a planet called Sakaar without his hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop  Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Goddess of Death, Hela (Cate Blanchett), who also happens to be his sister and Odin's firstborn child. 

Thor runs into an old office colleague, The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) at Sakaar against whom he must win a gladiatorial duel to get out of the planet and return to Asgard. A lot has changed at Asgard in his absence and Loki's (Tom Hiddleston) carelessness. Hela broke free from her cage while Odin was away making her a massive threat for his hometown, Asgard.

What's more intriguing is that Hela destroys Thor's hammer, The Mjölnir in the beginning of the film so the audience's interest stays at the peak thinking how he will defeat Hela without his mighty hammer.

All the actors have performed splendidly. The writing is just too slick, the script is filled with one-liners and dialogues that make you chuckle repeatedly. Mark Ruffalo is as convincing as always, he switches from the wise Dr. Banner to the big green smash-a-thon as effortlessly as Blanchett transforms herself into a dark soulless entity driven to consume the world.

We see another side of Dr. Banner as Hulk. Fans would know the difference as in this film, as Hulk is shown talking, which has never happened before.

Tom Hiddleston looks charming as ever. He outdoes himself every time he's on the screen and he does it again, even though he has less screen space as before in Thor: Dark World.

Chris Hemsworth has proven himself adept at comedy in other movies and he reinforces that in Thor: Ragnarok. While he delivers the drama and the action and the muscles, he also delivers the laughs.

None of the action sequences are brutal or bloody, like in every Marvel film ever. Director Taika Waititi has made the audience laugh even in the most serious scenes where tension is at its peak. Waititi ensures every character, and not just Thor gets a proper screentime in his film, making each character important on the screen.

I would like to give extra credits to the mastermind behind this film, Taika Waititi who's the real star of the film.
