THE FACTS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE
by The Daily Eye Team April 29 2014, 1:09 pm Estimated Reading Time: 0 mins, 43 secsThe science is clear: global warming is happening faster than ever and humans are responsible. This is a major problem because global warming destabilizes the delicate balance that makes life on this planet possible. Just a few degrees in temperature can completely change the world as we know it, and threaten the lives of millions of people around the world. 2012 was the hottest year on record in the United States, and 10 of the past 15 years have been the hottest on record globally. And as the planet heats up, our weather is becoming more extreme and less predictable. Scientists are expecting a 3.6 degree Fahrenheit increase in global ocean temperature in the next century. Globally, sea levels have already raised 4 inches since 1950, and in the North East U.S., the sea level has risen four times faster than the global average.
