Beaches in Goa are set for a major uplift this year, with Goa tourism development corporation (GTDC) promising public toilets and dressing rooms all along the coastline by October 2014. Non-availability of dressing rooms and toilets, as well as the garbage issue were some of the major issues that were brought up at the knowledge session held at Goa international travel mart (GITM) 2014 on Saturday.

Nikhil Desai, managing director GTDC and director of tourism with additional charge, when posed with a direct question by a participant, said, “By the start of next season, we will have toilets as well dressing rooms at all beaches in Goa”. “The process for setting-up infrastructure at beaches, particularly at identified tourism circuits has been set in motion. A right technology for having portable toilets has been identified,” Desai added.
