SOS Villages Of India Honoured With India NGO Award 2014!

Selected among 400 NGOs, SOS Children’s Village of India was chosen based on the decision of an independent jury who carefully chose NGOs on their demonstration of best practices of impact, scalability and reliability, innovation and sustainability in their programmes, and in creative and successful resource mobilization.
On receiving the award, Mr. Rakesh Jinsi, Secretary General, SOS Children’s Villages of India said, “We are honored to receive India NGO Award which further reinforces our commitment, showcases our strong financial management, and our contribution in improving the lives of many children. We continue to embark on our challenging yet fulfilling journey.”
The India NGO awards felicitates NGO under four categories based on applicant’s annual budgets – Small, Medium, Large and Rising star category. SOS was awarded with a trophy and cash prize of INR 4, 00,000. Additionally SOS will also be profiled in the casebook which is widely circulated.
The India NGO Awards is a national award that aims to celebrate and reward the best non-governmental and non-profit organizations by bringing forth the best practice, creative resourcing, financial management, governance and impact in the community. Instituted in 2006, India NGO Awards programme is now jointly funded by the Rockefeller Foundation and EdelGive Foundation.
Recently SOS Children’s Villages of India was accredited with CRISIL Rating of VO-2A indicating SOS’s “Strong Delivery Capability and High Financial Proficiency”. With this, SOS becomes the first NGO to undergo evaluation process especially designed for Voluntary Organisations’ by CRISIL. CRISIL is a credible rating agency which provides an objective and independent third-party opinion. SOS has also been awarded an Accreditation Certificate for “Desirable norms”, the highest form of rating by Credibility Alliance for a period of five years from 29th May 2014 to 28th May 2019.
